Bigfoot vs Megalodon
release year: 2021
genre: sci-fi/action/comedy/mishmash
viewing setting: home streaming 10/16/26
synopsis: Humans in spacesuits, aliens, a shark-man hybrid from the past, a wild hairy monster, and more battle it out in the space world of the future.
impressions: Some basic truths about this movie: 1) the poster lied, as there is no battle between the two title characters.....2) the entire thing was done with CGI and/or animation, there were no human faces, just voices for the CGI characters.....3) this film fell in the middle of what was apparently a larger series of movies.....4) the first three things didn't even matter because this film made little to no sense. The events are set in the year 4045, the Earth is destroyed and surviving humans roam the stars under the command of a "princess" although they stay inside spacesuits (even inside their ship) at all times, for some reason. The alien Archons, who look like your stereotypical little green men, are at war with the humans and their leader is named "Stalin" and constantly babbles on about all sorts of topics, many of them sexually-charged. For that matter, the princess also goes on and on and on about wanting to get pregnant. And Bigfoot talks like someone out of the early 1970s. If this all sounds crazy, that's because it is. The only reason I knew this chaotic mess wasn't completely AI-generated was that AI hadn't yet come that far back in 2021 when this thing was made. There is some attempt at a plot but it seldom comes anywhere near making sense. And some footage is re-used later in the movie.
acting: The voice acting is actually pretty decent, even if the lines are mostly gibberish.
final word: While it might work for a party with tons of alcohol or other ways of relieving the pain, for me this was a near-total waste of 71 minutes that I can never get back.
